Technical Marketing/Field Application Specialists

Must live near a major East Coast airport

HTG Molecular is seeking a technical marketing/field application specialist for the East Coast with advanced degrees to assist customers with adopting HTG Molecular’s portfolio of quantitative Nuclease Protections Assay (qNPA) platforms as well as HTG Molecular’s OMIX HD Imager and SuperCapella Imager. Candidates must live near any major airport on the East Coast and have strong backgrounds in molecular and cellular research, array technologies and data analysis. Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Successful candidates will be problem solvers who can assist clients in adapting HTG Molecular’s technologies to their research projects. The positions requires travel up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Understands and can perform experiments on all of HTG Molecular’s qNPA-driven platforms.
  • Provides pre- and post-sale technical support to HTG Molecular account representatives, including assisting customers in creating and executing experimental designs.
  • Performs on-site instrument installation and customer training.
  • Travels to customer site for presentations, training and program planning.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Education/Training: Master’s or Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Molecular Pathology or related field.

Experience:

  • 2–4 years industrial or university research experience (preferably in industry).
  • Experience with gene expression tools (qPCR, microarrays), FFPE tissue, and/or immunohistochemistry strongly preferred.

Knowledge of (position requirements at entry):

  • Statistical methods for data analysis.
  • Cellular and molecular biology, molecular pathology or related field.
  • Assay techniques, such as gene expression assays, array-based assays, ELISA assays.
  • Automated laboratory instruments (pipettors, wash stations, etc.).

Skills and Abilities in (position requirements at entry):

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including technical writing and data presentation.
  • Understanding of scientific principles and concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute novel ideas to solve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently carry out objectives.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time and meet deadlines.
